This was one of the first landscape paintings I made at the College of Creative Studies, right outside the west campus studio of my incredible teacher, Hank Pitcher. It is a study of the beautiful California coastal meadow in Santa Barbara in soft dawn light. I loved to get up before the first light to capture this fleeting time of day in my paintings.
